Family Fall Photo Session
October is my favourite month of the year! I celebrate my anniversary, my baby girl’s birthday and countless family birthdays as well. Not to mention Thanksgiving and Halloween! For me, October means pulling out the cozy sweaters, stylish toques and boots, and curling up on the couch with a glass of wine and a good movie. But above all, my absolute favourite thing about October is that the leaves on the trees go from bright green to the warm hues of orange, yellow and red. I seriously can’t stop looking at them as I drive around town, and back home to the Kootenays – it’s a miracle I haven’t been in an accident with all of my tree gazing!
This year October has been extra special. I’ve finally launched my photography business, and photographing families in the colourful outdoors has been spectacular! My favourite shoot this month was with some people who are near and dear to my heart: my brother and sister-in law and their two beautiful girls. Since finding out I was pregnant, they have showered me with the most AMAZING hand-me-downs ever! It's hard to give back when your child is the youngest, so this was my way of saying thank-you for the countless clothes, shoes, hats, and toys. We shot at the beginning of the month, which turned out to be perfect as it has been rainy and cloudy almost every day since. Here are a few of my favourite photos from that beautiful, sunny morning.
