Winter Wonderland

Since the snow won't quit, I thought I would share one of my favourite shoots I've done this winter. It was right after a huge snow fall in Trail, while I was home visiting family. On a whim, I asked my sister Kelsey if she would be interested in being my subject.

When she arrived, I quickly did her make-up and we dashed out of the house. We were doing this on a time crunch! I knew that I wanted to start the shoot on this amazing back road in Annabelle, which is always covered in snow. As we were leaving Annabelle, I was drawn to the old tunnel on the side of the highway. I'm glad I was paying attention to my surroundings, because it was a killer location to shoot. It wasn't even on my radar until I almost passed it and in my opinion it was the best location of our quick shoot.

It's funny how often people tell me how much Kelsey and I look alike. I'd always think to myself "this person has no idea what they are talking about". It wasn't until I was behind the lens, that I finally understood what all these people were seeing. Sure we both have blue eyes and are paler than pale, she has blonde hair and I have brown hair, but it's in the subtleties that we are similar. Our jaw line, our noses, our profiles, look nearly identical. From now on when people comment on how similar we look, I will take it as a compliment, because this girl is gorgeous!
